WHO IS IT FOR?

OVERVIEW

This course is a qualification for all those who are required to work, as part of their main job, who may be required to make an emergency evacuation from a confined space using escape breathing apparatus, enter into confined space with full working breathing apparatus to carry out a variety of work activities or carry out basic first aid.

Training is undertaken within regulation guidelines and once completed, learners should have gained enough knowledge to pass the assessment and enter high risk confined spaces.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anybody that works in confined spaces such as tanks and silos, vats or reaction vessels, can benefit from this training. Supervisors and managers would also require this training as they may be required to check, supervise or assist the work that is conducted.

WHAT DO I NEED?

PRE-REQUISITES

You need to pass Level 2 Award in Working in High Risk Confined Spaces 6160-03 before taking this course.
Candidates will need to sign a medical form prior to the start of the course. Physical exertion will be required therefore candidates need a good level of health and fitness. Candidates should not suffer from claustrophobia and / or nyctophobia (fear of small spaces or darkness).

The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English. If you have concerns in this area, please call us on 01275 398 665. The minimum age of attendance for this course is 16 years old, however delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of the training course.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

DURATION

2 days. Each day is 7.5 hours.

Participants will take part in both practical and theoretical training. Our instructors are highly qualified, and experienced, to help ensure that you receive the correct training.

ASSESSMENTS

Need to attend the 2 day course and pass both written and practical assessments.

WHAT WILL I GET WHEN I PASS THE COURSE?

CERTIFICATION

Delegates successfully completing the course will be issued with a Certification by City and Guilds, Level 3 Award 6160-08 Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery team in Confined Spaces which is valid for 3 years. Recertification for this course is required/encouraged every 3 years, candidates should retrain within a 3 year period to maintain their competencies, update skills and knowledge.
